ELAM
All interviews require preparation, but interviews in a second language are even more of a challenge and require more preparation and practice.
The more you practice, the more comfortable you will feel, and the better you will perform.
Part 1: Preparing for the Interview
Discuss with your coach what information you need to prepare:
- Information about the company
- Your synopsis about you…your unique selling proposition (USP)
- Typical interview questions: your accomplishments, strengths, weaknesses, expectations
- Key professional and interview vocabulary
- Answers to difficult questions
- Tips for telephone interviews
- Questions you ask at the interview
Part 2: (One week later) Practicing Your Answers
- Review your prepared answers with the coach
- Role play answers to questions
- Practice incorporating prepared answers into any question
- Make necessary adjustments
Part 3: Just before the Interview
Role-play an actual interview with a friend or coach.
